Sažetak
Anal carcinomas are relatively rare. The shape of planning target volume (PTV) presents challenge for 3D - CRT due to its horseshoe shape. In this work 3D - CRT planning technique was presented and compared with IMRT technique for anal carcinoma case. 3D - CRT plan was made with 7 field technique with 18 MV beams. IMRT plan was made with 7 field setup and with 6 MV beams. IMRT was planned with step and shoot IMRT method. Dosimetric evaluations were performed for both plans. Dose Volume Histogram (DVH) comparison showed similar PTV coverage and organs at risk (OAR) sparing for both plans. IMRT plan had higher conformality, but also had higher maximum dose. Dosimetric evaluations were in tolerances for both plans. Although IMRT showed slightly better OAR sparing and conformality, total patient dose for IMRT was higher than for 3D - CRT, so patient was irradiated with 3D - CRT technique.
