Sažetak
The objective of this paper was to analyze 90 Sr activity concentrations in the Sava River water and fallout as well as to present and discuss the measured values. 90 Sr activity concentrations were determined for samples taken from 2010 to 2014 at four points of the Sava River (Harmica, Zagreb, Sisak, Županja), and the fallout was collected in the courtyard of the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health (Zagreb). The 90 Sr activity concentrations ranged from 0.2 ± 0.1 Bq m -3 (Županja, 2013) to 3.5 ± 0.2 Bq m -3 (Sisak, 2013). The mean value of the surface water of the Croatian part of the river’s course was 1.3 ± 0.9 Bq m -3 . Except for values from Sisak, the activity concentrations measured at the three remaining locations were in good correlation. The values measured in the fallout ranged from 0.023 Bq m -2 in February 2011 to 2.030 Bq m -2 in June 2012 (median 0.186 Bq m -2 ). Activity concentrations in river water and fallout were not in good correlation (correlation coefficient -0.382). The results showed low 90 Sr activity concentrations in the Sava River water. Our results are comparable with 90 Sr activities from a number of European rivers. The spatial distribution of 90 Sr activity concentration along the Sava River course through Croatia clearly shows that the largest values were measured at Sisak (Harmica < Županja < Zagreb < Sisak).
