Sažetak
The aim of this thesis is to test the components of a formula-style racing car, developed by the FESB racing team, in a non-destructive manner. The racing team designs its own components which are then produced by their sponsors. These components are used to assemble the car. Some of these components broke down during driving and to date no testing was conducted on the parts of the racing car. For this reason, the author decided to conduct non-destructive testing on the given parts in order to evaluate them for further use. In the first part of the thesis, the host university, the racing team and their racing car are introduced. In the following part, the different testing method principles are explained and how to use these test methods in an efficient way. Consequently the tested components are shown and explained in their current state. These components are then examined using the previously introduced testing methods and the results are mentioned. In the last section, the testing methods are compared, the used equipment presented briefly and the results are concluded. The results show that the brake discs and steering wheel axle are still fit for use. The suspension of the frame has to be tested frequently to assure no further cracking in the welds. The differential axle was already broken but the long axle showed another discontinuity inside the material, meaning that the racing team should revise the design and other parameters involved in the quality of this product. Further testing of the components is recommended to make a better racing car.
