Sažetak
To obtain more information about auxin-receptor interactions, a number of ring-substituted derivatives of indole-3-acetic acid have been synthesized and their biological, structural and physico-chemical properties have been extensively studied [e. g. B. Nigović et al., Acta Crystallogr. B56, (2000) 94 and references quoted therein]. However, the fluorescence properties of most of these derivatives have not been reported. Here we present fluorescence spectra at different pH values as well as quantum yields for monoalkylated and mono- and dihalogenated derivatives of indole-3-acetic acid. The effects of the substituents on the above-mentioned fluorescence characteristics are discussed.
