Sažetak
Natural aging has major influence on optical properties of each printing paper substrate. The most important environmental influences on the papers stability are: heat, light and moisture. In this work the dependence of the paper optical characteristics on the ageing process was examined. The research was carried out with laboratory papers made by mixing isolated wheat fibers with the recycled wood fibers in a weight ratio 10:90, 20:80 and 30:70. To isolate fibers from the straw two alkaline methods were used which resulted with two types of virgin non-wood cellulose fibers. Laboratory paper made only from recycled wood fibers was used as a control paper. All paper substrates were artificially aged using standard techniques of accelerated ageing: dry-heat and treatment with a xenon arc lamp. The changes in the optical (ISO brightness, opacity, whiteness, L*a*b*, the reflective spectra) stability of papers were analyzed after accelerated ageing. The optical deterioration caused by ageing and by paper composition have been discussed.
