Sažetak
Focused discussion about: What does high ionic strength mean, what environmental compartments are relevant and what nanoparticles should be included. Conclusion that estuaries, near coastal areas in the vicinity of large population and industrial centres and areas with limited exchange (salt lakes) are relevant. Concluded that nanoplastics also represent anthropogenic nanomaterials and may be included ; How to transfer knowledge from freshwater to high ionic strength systems and the relevance of high ionic strength media, limiting concentrations? Conclusion that models are incomplete for freshwater systems, and are lacking for higher saltcontent water: Identify gaps in knowledge for brackish and marine systems - fate, transport in water and sediment, (bio)transformation, interaction with organisms. Particularly important are physical processes including sedimentation and resuspension, redox cycling, stabilization by natural organic matter, polysaccharide exudates
