Sažetak
In helping abused and neglected children, cooperation between Child Protection Center in Zagreb and Social Welfare Centers is very important and applied in numerous situations. This hind of cooperation has a lot of challenges for both teams. Child Protection Center in Zagreb is a part of medical health system with main purpose to provide efficient support and treatment to abused and neglected children. Multidisciplinary team consists of experienced mental health professionals. The Social Welfare Centers are part of multi- professional network of social services in Croatia with important role in helping children and parents in challenging family crises situations. Every year about 1000 children pass through multidisciplinary assessment in Child Protection Center. About 30% of them are referred form Social Welfare Centers. During last few years we especially noticed a lot of problems regarding children involved in high conflict divorces and this presents a great challenge for both teams to have more active cooperation. About 16% of children were assessed in Child Protection Center during parents' divorce. In our study we present main reasons for multidisciplinary assessment of those children referred by Social Welfare Centers. The main challenge for both teams are cases in which they have to deal with false statements for abuse, or/and manipulation of children. Presentation shows good clinical practices and problems to solve in dealing with children during high conflict divorce of their parents, and importance of cooperation between teams in those risk situations for children.
