Sažetak
With global oil and gas prices at record highs, opportunities for liquefied natural gas (LNG) as an alternative fuel source have become more promis¬ing. Potential new supplies are becoming available from numerous destinations that are creating capabilities to liquefy LNG and transport it effectively via specialised marine carriers. To receive and process the product, multiple regasification (also known as vaporisation) facilities are being planned or are under construction around the world. In order to vaporise LNG from its cryogenic state of -160°C to its ambient temperature, two predominant tecnologies have been used: the submerged combustion vaporiser (SCV) and the open rack vaporiser (ORV). In addition to SCV, ORV and other less widely used regasification techniques, a new process has shown considerable promise. LNG Smart® system is a vaporisation technology that uses an air exchange system coupled with an interme¬diary flow loop.
