Sažetak
This paper offers a research proposal of localized practices of highly skilled migrants in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Theoretically, the author situates the research project at the crossroads of migration and urban studies, while epistemologically and methodologically, in the field of cultural anthropology. Conceptualizing migrants as the actors of urban life, the research intends to ethnographically grasp and understand their everyday experience, their practical use of and symbolic inscription in the city. The research proposal thus includes the questions about the ways highly skilled migrants use and shape various city spaces, how they orientate themselves in spatial and social surroundings, how they connect with existing social networks and build new ones, how they construct and negotiate their connections with other spaces. By constructing research questions and analytical nodes, the author delineates the research of the roles that highly skilled migrants have in city-making.
