Sažetak
Although Internet is nowadays considered to be pretty dangerous if used excessively and unattended, it offers lots of possibilities for language learners, certainly more than a decade ago. In today’s age of information abundance information literacy plays essential role in modern society. It can be defined as the ability to recognize the extent and nature of an information need, then to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the needed information. If we see the Internet as a social and learning platform and as a mass communication medium and if appropriate measures are taken, it can be regarded as an endless resource of both written and aural materials for primary school children. The present paper focuses on two languages that are being taught both as a native or a second language in Croatia and Hungary, namely Croatian and Hungarian. In the course of this paper we decided to review internet sites for primary school children, and analyze them from the lexical point of view (lexemes used, collocations), and the usability (if the websites are to be used alone by children, under supervision or can be used in the classroom as well).
