Sažetak
Richly illustrated book written by Japanese author Yasuhiro Nosaka is based on preoperative 3D diagnostics related to both the maxillary sinus floor elevation procedures, conventional lateral window technique and transcrestal osteotome approach. Based on CBCT scans, the author of the book gives a great presentation of anatomy and anatomical variations, as well as some of developmental and pathological changes and lesions that can potentially compromise the outcome and success of surgical procedures. Except clinical photographs, each case is accompanied by a presentation of radiological follow-up few years after the operative procedure in order to analyse the success, but also failures and disadvantages of different techniques or combinations of techniques and biomaterials. The book is an excellent guide on how to make high-quality pre- operative preparation and analysis for sinus lift using CBCT and identify specific anatomical structures and depending on them how to choose the appropriate surgical techniques. Guidance and imaging complications accompanying the procedure of maxillary sinus floor elevation are also very useful and treatment options of the potential complications are individual and different for each of the presented clinical cases. The book is useful and necessary to each clinical practitioner who works in the field of dental implantology, especially for some more demanding techniques such as the sinus lift due to the simple way in which the book was written and designed, but mostly because of outstanding photo-documentation of each clinical case starting from the planning stage, through the phases of the surgical procedures and finally postoperative 3D radiographic evaluation.
