Sažetak
This paper aims to explore the structure of publishing studies as a research field using different bibliometric methods and techniques. Reference and citation analysis of eight groundbreaking publishing studies monographs was conducted to analyse most prominent document types in use, major knowledge producers and most influential publications in the field. Document and author co-citation patterns, extracted noun phrases and keywords of cited/citing publications were used to map the intellectual structure and show major research topics of publishing studies. Preliminary findings of this study can be used as a good starting point in providing a comprehensive analysis in search of general trends in publishing studies.
