migrations of Slovaks and Croats, Slovak and Croatian regions, the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries
Sažetak
Croatians started to settle in present-day Slovakia in the sixteenth century and Slovaks arrived in Croatia in the late 18 century. In the eighteenth century, Croatians settled in several Slovak villages, while Slovaks were recordered only in the vicinity of Ilok and Osijek. This paper analyzes the social position of the 18 century Croatians in Slovakia and Slovaks in Croatia as well as the similarities and the differences between their social standing.
