Sažetak
This paper will present the results of the first extensive archaeobotanical research of Bronze Age site in Croatia. The aim of the study was to see what plants were consumed (grown) on Kalnik-Igrišče (NW Croatia) in the Bronze Age and to perceive if the diet of local population, was different from eating habits of the inhabitants in neighbouring countries. The results show that all plant macrofossils found at Kalnik-Igrišče can be classified into one of three functional groups: cultivated herbaceous plants (cereals and legumes), useful trees and weeds. As much as 98% of the findings are cereals and legumes. The most abundant found species are millet, barley, horsebean, wheat and lentils. The findings from Kalnik- Igrišče do not differ from the findings of the neighbouring neighboring countries, indicating a similar diet and agricultural/plant collecting activities throughout the whole studied area (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Austria and Hungary).
