Sažetak
Education within today`s neoliberal capitalism has been assigned new definition, which is no longer in accordance with the concern for humanity. The reasons behind these changes can be found in the new economic and political paradigms worldwide. Due to the accession and harmonization of European standards, Croatia has adopted the National Framework Curriculum for Preschool Education and Compulsory General Education (Croatia, July, 2011). It emphasizes the importance of students’ achievements and competencies. Simplifying the concept of education to justify the cultivation of certain competencies, makes for a radical turning point in defining the purpose of education itself. However, many exclude the moment where humanity is integrated to the education system altogether.
