Sažetak
Philosophy with children is contemporary philosophical discipline which has strong connection with the philosophy in practice, but also with philosophy of education. Today there is lot of different approach to Philosophy with children. One of the main aims of PwC is to develop critical thinking in children and youth. The definition that Critical thinking is “Light Philosophy” is very interesting and true. The roots of contemporary concept of Critical Thinking are in John Dewey’s work, especially in his book “How we think” Dewey claims: “Active, persistent and careful consideration of any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the grounds that support it, and the further conclusions to which it tends, constitutes reflective thought.” (Dewey, 1933, 6). Dewey name for critical ticking was reflective thinking. Critical thinking is very important in ethical education in contemporary world. It’s very important, in ethical education to encourage moral consciousness and responsibility in children in youth. “Teaching morality is to create in the child and adolescent moral consciousness that will allow them to determine its behavior with regard to people and things" (Louis Legrand, 1995). Thinking and reasoning about ethical issues is not possible without critical thinking. That’s way ethical education must include learning critical thinking. Good programs in Philosophy with children deals with critical thinking, that’s why PwC can help in ethical education, and that’s why most of the educational materials and tools in ETHOS project include PwC which contains learning critical thinking.
