Sažetak
This paper is based on an ethnological filed research conducted in the area of the Bay of Boka Kotorska, at the Vrmac peninsula. In the period of ten days, I have conducted interviews with approximately 40 informants. Ethnographic materials were supplemented with statistical demographic data (from Montenegro censuses), data available online and published literature. My aim was to find out to what extent changes in political borders from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 21st century were important for migration mobility. My second goal was to explore how much life in different countries, entwined with numerous political and economic migrations, resulted in changes in the ethnic and confessional composition of the population. Having in mind the life in the border areas, the aim was to detect “Others” on the local, regional, ethnic, and national levels.
