Sažetak
The starting point in this paper is the modern information technology and its rolle in modern economy, i.e., it starts from Management Information Technology - MIT. The author then defines the development of the forms of shops as the main strategic orientation of a retail trade enterrprise. The development of information technologies coluld serve as the foundation for the explantation of the change in retail forms (especially in the forms of shops). In that sense, this paper is an attempt to give a new classification of modern forms of shops. Modern information technologies and information systems based on them are bocoming a strategic weapon of the retail trade enterprise. This can be particularly observed through the analysis of the development of inovative forms of management of a retail trade enterprise (e.g. in the system of Enterprise Resource Planning - ERP). Thus, the implementation of modern information technologies marks a new forming of shops. New forms of shops will allow for a new division of the market. This is another challenge for successful Croatin retail traders.
