Sažetak
This paper aims to examine the role of food industry development and technological revolution in creating market inefficiency. Using the current scientific body of knowledge and consumer research results of 203 participants, the paper tries to demonstrate the lack of information and the resulting market outcome in food industry. Findings: As a result of technological revolution, lack of information (p=, 000) and inadequate government regulation, food markets (p=, 000) have become inefficient, creating cost which can no longer be measured only in economic terms. It is implicated that the current supply of food could be depicted as low quality and responsible for a number of health problems. Although the root of poor health is complex, our research results suggest that certain technological innovations have contributed to the problem.
