Sažetak
Batch distillation as a high efficient separation processes typically used in food and chemical industries. The main goal of this work is production of high concentration of light component (ethanol) from binary mixture of buckwheat distillate at different total reflux period of time (15, 20 and 25 minutes) and constant reflux ratios (3:1 ; 5:1 ; 8:1). PI controller was used to take effect on the reflux control valve placed on rectifying column. Rectifying column was filled up with "Raschig rings" approximately equal in legth in diameter (5 mm). After the period of time, reflux is set as a constant value and maintained during the whole time of the process (180 minutes). The initial volume is 10 L with 83/17 mol% binary feed of ethanol. During the all time of the process heavy component has removed as bottom product and the light component is removed as a distillate. Total distillate composition were obtained by controlling the temperature in reboiler pot, which was set at 70 oC to maintain a distillate composition of minimum 95 mol% ethanol. Optimal reflux ratio was 3:1 ; 15, 20 min ; 5:1 ; 15 min ; 8:1 ; 25 min) indicate increasing of mol% fraction of ethanol from 93.70-94.29. Optimization of reflux ration get into high value of ethanol fraction and minimizing of total costs. Finally, obtained distillate characterize high quality and purity for using as a raw material in production of novel foodstuffs.
