Sažetak
The paper deals with the possibility of 226Ra removal from geothermal water (temperature about 50 oC) containing increased level of radioactivity at one location in Croatia. This geothermal source has been used exclusively in recreational purposes. Utilization of certain technological procedures, such as intense aeration and filtration of aerated water with high pressure sand filters, would remove approximately 53% of initial 226Ra activity concentration and exclude any potential risk for the pool users. By the decrease of radioactivity, this geothermal source could also be used as an additional source of water for keeping the pool water at a constant temperature together with the water from the public water system.
