Sažetak
A number of substituted benzothiazoles exhibit useful pharmacological activities. Continuing our studies on the synthesis of some effective, compounds against cancer we prepared some new heterocyclic diamidines. Starting with 5-(p-cyanophenyl)-2-thiophene (or furan)carbaldehyde and with p-(carboxyphenyl)-2-thiophene or (furan)carbonitrilby multistep synthesis we obtained corresponding dinitriles. Diamidines were prepared by the reacrion of diimidate derivatives with isopropylamine or ethylenediamine, respectively (Pinner reaction). The free base was treated with HCl to generate the water soluble bis-hyrdochloride salts.
