Sažetak
Tourism is one of the most important economic activities in Croatia which can open new jobs, increase living standard as well as economic balance. Continental part of the country, in the aspect of tourism development, however, is still largely behind coastal area. Only individuals and well inform tourists, on their trip to Croatian coast, visit some areas in continental part of country. Until recently there were no strategies and interests which would encourage guests to stay in these parts so that these areas too could benefit from tourism. Inland of Croatia is generally, not touristiclly valorised and used enough. All this statements can also be applied on the part of area around river Sava, called Lonjsko polje. This biologically, culturally and traditionally exceptional worthy area has started to be promoted and use only recently, but many of its potentials are still hidden. One of the important motives for developing tourism in NP Lonjsko polje, except of biological and cultural diversity presentation, is to increase people’s income and life standard. Also, the goal is to make area desirable for the people to stay there, or make people to come back and except new jobs which could open there. Tourism of course, must be developed so that natural, historical and cultural resources are kept for long use but also that society benefits from them. Also, tourism must be developed in a way that it doesn’t cause serious ecological and socio- cultural problems. In the same time tourist must be satisfied and destination popular and competitive in the market.
