Sažetak
Silicon nitride is attracting increasing attention within the ceramics activities of Europe, the USA and Japan, because of its potential use as a high temperature engineering material in applications where metals have traditionally been used, for example gas turbines. Its high-temperatures properties, e.g. strength and thermal shock resistance, offer advantages for its use in harsh working environments. Silicon nitride is expected to become a leading material in production of mechanical parts working at high temperature and corrosion conditions.
