Sažetak
Hydrogen oxalates form chains of strong hydrogen bonds connecting carboxylic and carboxylate groups, the shortest O-H ∙∙∙O bond being 2.490 Ǻ in LiHC2O4∙H2O, 2.533 Ǻ in KHC2O4, 2.571 Ǻ in NaHC2O4∙H2O, and 2.559 Ǻ in (COOH)2∙6H2O [1-3]. Spectroscopic signatures of these bonds are rather prominent bending deformation of COH carboxylic group around 1461 cm-1, C-O(H) stretching around 1404 cm-1 and a ν(CO2-) stretching at 1437 cm-1 in the case of LiHC2O4∙H2O, and at 1414 and 1458 cm-1 in NaHC2O4∙H2O. Besides strong carbonyl stretching vibrations, one observes and asymmetrical carboxylate stretching vibrations around 1667 cm- 1. An unusual intensity dependence or Raman spectra on the orientation of linearly polarized electrical field suggests possible switching of proton positions between donor and acceptor [4].
