Sažetak
It is projected that during the 21st century the average temperature of the air and sea will rise by 1, 1-2, 9 °C, which can have a big impact on ecosystems worldwide. The average annual temperature in the Pannonian part of Croatia in 2011-2013. exceeded the level of 1961-1990. on 0, 7-1, 6 °C. Weather conditions for 2012 and 2013. were classified as "extremely warm" weather. Global warming is having a significant impact on livestock production, due to the lower availability of water and food resources, violation of thermoregulation of the body, heat stress and the spread of new diseases. Heat stress in cattle leads to changes in the physiological state, metabolic disorders and reproductive ability. At the end of pregnancy and during the early lactation cows are most susceptible to nutritional imbalances in the diet, they need food with high energy content. During this period, the animals often consume enough food, and develops a negative energy balance. Such cows longer restores normal reproductive cycle, lengthened intercalving period suppresses the production of luteinizing hormone.Heat stress induces endocrine changes, disorders of ovulation, increasing the diameter of the dominant follicle, increase the content IGF and IGF-I levels in the blood of corticosteroids, which in turn inhibits the production of gonadotropins. It has been shown that the increased ambient temperature for three days before and one day after insemination reduced fertility due to adverse effects on oocytes, spermatozoa and embryos.
