Sažetak
On the low carbon steel and low carbon steel microalloyed with niobium were conducted parallel testing. Influence of strain rate on the beginning of plastic deformation in niobium microalloyed steel has been examined. With tension test carried out on a testing machine, the thermal imaging camera at the same time measured the temperature changes on the surface of the samples. Given results showed that the onset of plastic flow is significantly different for Nb steel. When testing the Nb steel, after reaching the yield point (Reh), comes to the appearance of Lüders bands. In this area the increase in stretching force doesn't change temperature of the samples surface. Strain rate affects on the propagation speed of Lüders bands through deformation zone.
