Sažetak
The paper summarizes data on the exposure of population groups in Croatia to organochlorine pesticides (DDT complex, HCH isomers, HCB), polychlorinated biphenyls, polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans. The monitoring data on organochlorine compounds in human blood/serum (general population and occupationally exposed subjects) and in human milk are compared with data from other countries within and outside Europe.The intake of organochlorine compounds by nursing mothers and non-nursing women of the same age was calculated from concentrations measured in the consumed food, and the intake by brest-fed infants from concentrations measured in human milk.
