Sažetak
The diatom communities of several microhabitats of mire Gornja and Donja bara in Blidinje natural Park were studied. The mire is situated in the area called Masna Luka, at an altitude of 1200 m a.s.l. Plant communities of the mire and adjointed springs have been evaluated in terms of Braun-Blanquet phytosociological approach. Four plant associations belonging to the Scheuchzerio-Caricetea fuscae Tüxen 1937 vegetation class were identified. Vegetation is mostly characterized by Eriophorum spp. and Carex spp. - dominated conenoses. The habitats include neutral or slightly alkaline water bodies, and they have an extraordinary importance in terms of vascular plants diversity and conservation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Phycologically, this area has never been studied until now. Samples were taken during vegetational season, in 2007 and 2008 - in different vegetation microhabitats by squeezing water from mosses and taking material from pools. Most of the determined taxa are oligotraphentic and alkalophilous. In majority of samples, the most abundant species was Achnanthidium minutissimum (Kütz.) Czarn. There is a difference in composition of diatom flora between samples from more mineralized and aerial part of the mire and the one which is directly influenced by the spring. According to published data and due to the general lack of phycological data on rare wetland habitats in Bosnia and Hercegovina, a number of species in mires of Blidinje nature park are recorded for the first time for Bosnia and Hercegovina, such as: Navicula dealpina Lange-Bert., Mastogloia grevillei W. Smith, Gomphonema lateripunctatum E. Reichardt & Lange-Bert., Muelleria gibbula (Cleve) Spaulding & Stoermer and Caloneis molaris (Grunow) Krammer.
