Sažetak
Text relies on huge literature dealing with the break-up of Yugoslavia, different collections of public sources and newspapers articles (especially collections prepared by HINA, Croatian News Agency Documentation Centre). Probably the strongest and the most innovative segment is introduction, part of the article dealing with the late 1980’ which is based on the documents from three private collections (of Josip Vrhovec, Budimir Lončar, Milka Planic). The article shows what were the major problems in Yugoslavia during the last few years of its existence, how country was becoming less and less relevant in the international arena. Based on the documents form the collective chief of state, I would show what were the problems discussed, why federal structure was less and less capable of solving any problem, how republics were becoming more and more dominant and finally, how it all erupted in a series of bloody wars which followed the break up of Yugoslavia.
