Sažetak
Istrian Malvasia is the most common white grapevine variety in the viticulture subregion of Istria (Croatia) and the most responsible for the creation of the Istrian wine brand. The specificity of each wine, including Istrian Malvasia, is a direct result of the influence of terroir - a complex system which consists of: soil type, climate, variety, viticultural and soil management procedures, among which an important role belongs to the grapevine nutrition. The aim of this study was to determine the amount of macro- and microelements in the leaf, depending on the specific terroir. The study enrolled four Istrian Malvasia vineyards in full production fertility, each on a different type of soil (red soil and brown soil on marl and two rendzinas on marl with different nutrients status, popularly called red, black, gray and white soil), on SO4 rootstock. In 2011 and 2012 physical and chemical analysis of soil and leaf analysis were done. It has been found that all the soils are heterogeneous, with low permeability and affinity to compression, with different pH and soil lime content as well as soil nutrient content. Leaf analysis showed insufficient amounts of N, P, K and Zn, while the values of Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu and Mn were within optimal, except in red soil. Determined insufficient amounts of nutrients in the leaves, especially N, P and K, showed that it is necessary to conduct controlled grapevine nutrition, which is ultimately a precondition for the quality of grapes and wine.
