Sažetak
The aim of this work is to produce x-ray emission spectra from an indium target within the (1 - 60) keV range [1, 2]. For this work a 1 TW 30 fs Ti:sapphire laser is focused to a target surface giving us a power density of approximately 1017 Wcm-2 on the target. The laser was operated at 810 nm with a 10 Hz repetition rate. The target was constantly moved using actuators to avoid cratering. The x-rays are detected using a Princeton Gamma-Tech x-ray spectrometer (Si(Li)). The spectra were recorded with a variety of thicknesses of Al filters and a 0.5 mm diameter pinhole. The distance between the target and the detector was 20 cm. The calibration of the spectrometer was made using an 241Am source. Our experiment includes optimizing the thickness of the filter in the effort to obtain the highest S/N ratio.
