Sažetak
Stress related disorders such as acute stress disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder are commonly present in the active and veteran military personnel. The review of current applications of psychophysiology in a diagnostic and treatment procedures for patients with stress related disorders will be presented, as well as the results of own research. Research studies explore the association between reactibility of psychophysiological parameters (i. e., heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, skin conductivity) with a biological dysfunction and changes in the central and peripheral nervous system in people with stress related disorders. Currently, the possibility of generalization of these findings do not exist. Furthermore, the use of psychophysiological parameters as potential biomarkers of acute and chronic phases of trauma and predictors of the course of disorders is investigated. Our own research shows that the startle habituation and resting heart rate are the most reliable parameters in patients with PTSD.
