Sažetak
Knowledge is the basis on which businesses can build sustainable operations and gain competitive advantages. There is a growing awareness within the hotel industry of the need to undertake Knowledge management activities and develop a Knowledge management strategy. Among researchers and managers, there is constant debate concerning the way Knowledge Management activities contribute to achieving an enterprise’s goals and competitiveness. The study was conducted within the hotel industry of Croatia to provide empirical evidence that Knowledge Management activities contribute to the development of a hotel enterprise’s competitiveness. The empirical research shows that the hotel industry agrees with the fact that implementation of Knowledge Management- focused activities significantly contribute to the achievement of enterprise objectives and goals such as increasing productivity, developing employees, improving human resource management and creating the environment that encourage innovations. Successful business performance of hotel enterprises will help in gaining competitive advantages on the local, regional and global market.
