Sažetak
In this paper we investigate the impact transition had on the total factor productivity (TFP) in Croatia. Our methodology is interesting for several reasons: it covers the period from 1952 to 2010 which enables us to analyze TFP before and after transition ; estimates of the initial level of capital are depreciated away by 1968 which enables a robust analysis afterward ; formal structural break tests are used to estimate statistical significance of endogenously determined breaks in the TFP share and TFP growth rate ; and two definitions of human capital augmented labor are used in the estimation. In total, the methodology derives 18 estimates of TFP for the post 1968 period and structural break tests robustly indicate that transition had a positive and significant impact on the TFP growth rate.
