Sažetak
Introduction: Reconstructive shoulder surgery, such as rotator cuff repair and shoulder stabilization, is now less invasive. Therapeutic materials are now stronger in comparison with them in last decades (1). Standard protocols involve shoulder immobilization for up to 6 weeks, followed by range of motion and then strengthening at 3 months. Shoulder stiffness is not uncommon and usually return to sports is more than 6 months. However, the complex composition, structure, and mechanical behavior of the tendon/ligament-to-bone insertion result in particularly difficult challenges for effective response to injury/surgery (2). Neurophysiologic studies on should exercises have given us a better understanding of the effects on recruitment. Because of that we must use this information, to develop very controlled and specific rehabilitation protocols for every shoulder surgery for better rehabilitation, compared with them in the past. A particular challenge emerges like surgery and rehabilitation of different athletes whose activities require extreme edema on the shoulder and we need to recognize the mechanisms of injury which are highly specific to a particular sport. Taking all this into consideration, the question arises as to whether a modern rehabilitation manages to respond to the challenges of modern shoulder surgery in our system in which we work and create? ELABORATION In Department of Orthopaedic in University Hospital Lovran we collected data for 132 patients operated during 2012 in the area of the shoulder joint. Data were collectedretrospectively from the medical history and Kibis's (ClinicalInformaticshospitalsystem). The collected data were analyzed using the method of analysis: synthesis, description, explication. Observedthe age, sex distribution, and preoperative patient preparation by the committed, the type of surgery, and in place continued rehabilitation. CONCLUSION Extensive, modern training of physiotherapists and other staff who participate in the rehabilitation process of patients, especially athletes at all stages of rehabilitation is necessary. It is also important to ensure the best possible performance, the famous road that will take place at all stages in a solid communications of operators, physiotherapists, fitness trainers and others for the full benefit of the patients.
