Sažetak
Urolitijaza u ljudi je relativno česta bolest u industrijaliziranim zemljama i njezina učestalost je u posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća u porastu. Analiziranjem sastava kamenaca može se odrediti njihova geneza na osnovu koje se određuje terapija i dijetalna prehrana radi spriječavanja ponovnog stvaranja kamenaca. Najčešće komponente u sastavu bubrežnih kamenaca su kalcijevi oksalati: monohidrat Ca(CO2)2xH2O (vevelit) i dihidrat Ca(CO2)2x2H2O (vedelit), vedelit je nestabilna modifikacija i s vremenom prelazi u vevelit, pa je smjesa vedelita i vevelita prilično česta ; fosfati: karbonat apatit Ca10(PO4)6-x(OH)2-y(CO3)x+y, hidroksi apatit Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, kalcijev hidrogen fosfat dihidrat CaHPO4x2H2O (brušit) i amonijev magnezijev fosfat heksahidrat NH4MgPO4x6H2O (struvit) ; mokraćna kiselina C5H4N4O3, mokraćna kiselina dihidrat C5H4N4O3x2H2O i cistin C6H12N2O4S2. Kemijske metode analize danas su zamijenjene fizikalnom metodom – infracrvenom (IR) spektroskopijom jer je jednostavnija, brža i treba manju količinu uzorka za analizu. IR spektroskopija tehnikom Nujol prvi je put primijenjena za analize kamenaca 1955. godine. Uporabom tehnike pastile kalijevog bromida riješeni su neki nedostatci koje je pokazivala uporaba Nujola te se danas isključivo radi s KBr pastilama. Analize bubrežnih kamenaca metodom IR spektroskopije rade se u Institutu „Ruđer Bošković“ od 1967. godine. Do danas, u našem Laboratoriju je metodom IR spektroskopije napravljeno oko 19000 analiza kamenaca.

Urolithiasis is a relatively common disease in industrialized countries and its incidence has increased over the several last decades. The knowledge about the composition of urinary calculi is very important in the study of genesis and treatment of urolithiasis. The most frequent constituents of urinary stones are calcium oxalates: the monohydrate Ca(CO2)2xH2O (whewellite, COM) and dihydrate Ca(CO2)2x2H2O (weddellite, COD) ; various phosphates as: carbonate apatite Ca10(PO4)6-x(OH)2-y(CO3)x+y, hydroxy apatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 (HAP), calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate CaHPO4x2H2O (brushite) and ammonium magnesium phosphate hexahydrate NH4MgPO4x6H2O (struvite) ; uric acid C5H4N4O3 (H2U), uric acid dihydrate C5H4N4O3x2H2O (H2Ux2H2O) and cystine C6H12N2O4S2 (cys). The infrared (IR) spectroscopy has been found to be reliable and very useful method for determination of the composition of human urinary calculi. Application of IR method started in 1967 at the Ruđer Bošković Institute. IR spectroscopy was first applied for stone analysis in 1955 using Nujol technique. The use of potassium bromide pressed disk technique overcame some of the major shortcomings of the Nujol mull and nowadays IR spectroscopy is widely used for the analysis of urinary calculi. Since 1967 about 19000 urinary calculi have been analyzed by IR spectroscopy in our Laboratory.
