Sažetak
In the paper are presented research results of efficiency of quality assurance approaches in shipbuilding. By a differentiation-based approach to quality assurance, and by taking targeted corrective and preventive actions in the identified points of the pipe production process, in which errors are likely to occur, it is shown that certain quality improvements can be achieved. Although the extent and duration of such an improvement depends on numerous factors within the process itself as well as on environmental factors, the achievements encourage taking further quality improvement measures in a pipe production process as well as in shipyard as a whole. It is shown that profound and holistic approach to quality improvements is needed on the organization level in order to fully utilise the potential of quality assurance methods in any subordinate process, including pipe production.
