Sažetak
During archaeological excavation in 1970. in Otok (eastern part of Croatia), in grave number 16, the skeletons of horse rider and horse were found. Those osteological remains dates from the end of the 8th century and they are very well preserved, except great damage on horse's head which point out that horse was killed. Horse skeleton is storing in Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology Veterinary Faculty. After morphological and osteometrical analysis of long bones, we process results statisticaly. The primary aim of this study is to estimate the whiters height of the horse. Also, on the basis of the data we try to find out which group of horses this horse belong to and why, beside well preserved osteological remains and metal parts of a harness, the horseshoes wasnt find out in the grave.
