Sažetak
The production of domestic animals and their products has a great economic and strategic importance for each country. Depending on the specifics of some countries some corresponding measures have been undertaken with the aim of developing to the utmost level this sector of the economy. The Republic of Croatia also belongs to these countries, where stock raising has special importance.Taking into consideration the conditions in which Croatia has temporarily found itself, it will be necessary to make great efforts to bring livestock raising at least to the same level as before the war. In discussing the situation it is indispensable to take into consideration that livestock raising in Croatia, even several years before the war, for different reasons, was characterized by negative trends which referred to the decrease in livestock, meat and milk production.
