Sažetak
The paper describes ergative and middle constructions in English, focusing on their semantic and morphosyntactic properties.It analysis their Croatian counterparts with the aim of determining the similarities and differences between the two languages. Furthermore, the relationship between active transitive, middle and ergative constructions is explored within the framework of Cognitive Grammar.
