Sažetak
The paper summarizes the problems and progress in the field of numerical modeling in ship hydrodynamics. In the process of ship hull form design, a range of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods is used nowadays to predict the ship hydrodynamic characteristics and to provide better evaluation of various design alternatives. These methods could be a very useful tool in ship design, particularly at an early design stage, and may be considered as a good complement to the traditional model testing.
