Sažetak
Organizations are affected by their environments. One aspect of environment is the type of industry in which organization operates. Gordon 81991) postulates that organizational culture reflects industry driven assumptions about competitive environment, customer requirement and societal expectations. Organizational culture as expressed in the value system, further influences the development of organizational strategy and forms (structure, practices and processes). Hypothesis about relatively greater similarity of organizational cultures within industries regarding organizational values and practices was examined by data collected with a FOCUS questionnaire of organizational and climate in 10 organizations related to 5 industries. Implications of results for cultural changes are disscussed.
