Sažetak
Design is often regarded as an artistic creativity for esthetic reasons, rather then interdisciplinary activity. It's goal is to find adequate solutions for complex environmental, production and communication problem of modern societies. Technology has initiated development of new disciplines of design, extending fields of professional practice towards new media and multimedia, adding even more so to the complexity of numerious tasks for designers today. In order to be able to meet the complex requirements of modern societies, designers need to develop and to use methodology which would enable step by step analytical research and creative synthesis, thus providing quality input for innovative and creative thinking process. This paper argues about design as an interdisciplinary analytical thinking process which generates new ideas and concepts for the solutions of today's complex problems. It is also arguing about design methodology as analytical tool for intentionally planned creative problem solving process, as opposed to the artistic creative process.
