Sažetak
The thesis discusses problems arising in documentary and art photography, using the examples of ten museums in Zagreb, Croatia. The discussion includes the first photographers that appeared in Zagreb, their early works, techniques, purposes as well as the types of photography. The data on the creation of the photography collections, their contents and themes, as well as on the state they are in and the elaboration carried out on them are presented clearly. The history of the Croatian Historical Museum is reviewed with reference to the photography collections compiled from several museums. Documentary photography of the old and recent history from ten museums in Zagreb is described. Safety measures and precautions for the storage of the photographic materials in the Croatian Historical Museum are suggested. A new index for the Liberation War collection is presented. A file for computer data search made by the author is also included. The thesis is equipped with illustrations about the methods of analyzing museum photography collections.
