Sažetak
This paper deals with James Joyce's representation of women in a few selected short stories from Dubliners: «Clay», «A Mother», «Eveline», «The Boarding House». The analysis is structured around the examples that illustrate the representation of «women's spaces» featured as public and private spaces (home, family, religion, politics). The paper discusses a few basic issues relevant to this topic: male-female relations, patriarchal society, motherhood, love, marriage and common stereotypes of women.
