Sažetak
The clinical significance of H. pylori infection in the etiopathogenesis of many gastric and duodenal diseases, peptic ulcer in particular, as well as the current awareness of the benefites of its eradication has produced crucial changes in the treatment of this diseases. Erdication was alredy defined as the disapireance of H. pylori from the gastric mucosa (finding negativization) confirmed at least 4 weeks (or later) after completed antibiotic eradication therapy. The regimen has to be simple, cheap and tolerable so that the patient can carry it out completely and as easily as possible (good complance is requred). The succes of H. pylori eradication, evaluted ba the strict intention to treat criteria has to be higher than 80 percent. Current modern therapy should be triple and no longer than 7 days. One of the proton pump inhibitors is recomended as the antisecretory component (omeprazole, pantoprazole or lansoprezole). Two of the three folloving antibiotics is added to this therapy : metronidazole/tinidazole, clarithromicin or amoxicillin.
