Sažetak
Canine tooth fractures are extremely rare, and when extending below both the gingival margin and alveolar bone, difficult to restore. Extraction of a maxillary canine results in loss of a significant amount of mass from the maxilla which adversely affects the esthetics. Surgical crown lengthening alone may lead to ateration of gingival levels. If the root length is sufficient, orthodontic extrusion effectively preservs the remaining root by moving the fracture line to a supracrestal position preventing a planned restoration from impinging on the biologic width. To avoid extraction and remain the root, a procedure was designed, including orthodontic extrusion, to move the fracture line supragingivally ensuring a more predictable restoration.
