Sažetak
The oxidoreductive enzymes, glutathione reductase (GR), catalase (CAT) and glutathione- S-transferase (GST) as markers of oxidative stress were measured in erythrocytes and plasma of dairy cows during three stages of lactating period: immediately after parturition (group 1), until 80th day of lactation (group 2) and after 200 day of lactation (group 3). GR, GST and CAT activities were found significantly higher in erythrocyte hemolysates of dairy cows during early lactation period than in later stages of lactation (group 2 and 3). Similarly was observed for plasma GST activity which was significantly lower in the later stages of lactation (second and third group). Contrary to erythrocyte GR decrease, dairy cows plasma GR activities were significantly higher (P<0.05) in the later stages of lactating period (group 2 and 3). Obtained data indicates increased oxidative stress in dairy cow red blood cells during early phases of lactation, and its decrease in later stages of lactation.
