Sažetak
Pear shoot sawfly (Janus compressus Fabricius), recently became an important pest of pear. Pest occurred periodically. Symptoms of pear shoot sawfly are very specific. During springtime, in the phase of intensive growth, the tips of pear shoots wilt and after a period of 7 to 10 days turn black and fall off. The aim of this study was to determine a flight period and population level of pear shoot sawfly in eastern Slavonia, as well as to determine effect of insecticide Actara 25 WG in larva control. Trials were conducted in 2009, 2010, and 2011 on 9 localities, with 16 different pear varieties. Population of adult stages was monitored by yellow and white sticky traps with a determined beginning of the flight, late in the second decade of April and lasted about a month. Average peak population was determined on 1st May. Control larvae trial was used insecticide Actara 25 WG (thiametoxam 25 %), with a applied concentration of 0, 02 %. Insecticide treatment was applied depending on the stages of larva development, with first treatment in early larva growth stages (body length: 1-3 mm), and second treatment in later larva growth stages (body length: 8-10 mm). Both stages of larval development were treated twice at an interval of 8 days. Results revealed high efficacy (91.75%) of insecticide Actara 25 WG when applied in period of early growth stages of larva. However, low efficacy (8.62%) was obtained when insecticide was applied in later growth stages of larva.
